1. How would you suggest the average women keeps her skin glowing this winter?Winter weather takes its toll on skin, often leaving it feeling dry and tight - even flaking. My best advice for glowing skin this season is to step up to a more emollient moisturizer. My new (and all-time) favorite is my Extra Moisturizing Balm. It's so intensively hydrating - it makes my skin look and feel better, instantly. If you're going to be outdoors for any length of time, use Extra Moisturizing Balm SPF 25. This is perfect for the slopes too. As far as makeup, if you normally use powder formulations of blush and eye shadow think about switching to creams - you'll get a smoother application and longer wear. Winter skin is more vulnerable so you need to use products which will nourish and hydrate. If you apply powder onto dry, winter skin it can end up looking flaky and flat/dull. - it makes perfect sense to switch to a cream blush stick which looks so much more natural and adds a healthy glow. 2. What is the one product you can't live without Concealer is one of my all time favourite beauty products. I think this is the secret of the beauty universe. Yellow-based concealers are designed to lighten darkness under your eyes and make you look as if you’ve had eight hours sleep when you’ve only had five. Concealer can instantly brighten your face and lift your mood. 3. What’s the best beauty advice you were ever given Early on in my career, the actress Lauren Hutton gave me two really good tips: that your fingers are great tools - for applying concealer and foundation or mixing shades of lipstick together - and that the trick to picking natural-looking makeup is finding shades that look like the color of your skin. 4. What advice would you give to anyone trying to achieve a sexy glowing body? It's all about bronzer, or self-tanner. And, the key in winter-time is not to go too far - you're going for a healthy, sun-kissed glow, not an all-out tanned look. My favorite is Bobbi Brown All Over Bronzing Gel SPF 15 - the non-greasy formula absorbs completely into the skin and won’t streak or give off a reddish cast. I use it year-round, whenever I’m having a bad beauty day and it gives me a great glow. 5. Do you have a strict diet and fitness regime? I find I look my best if I start the day exercising. Recently, I have started walking for 45 minutes with a few of my neighbours which is a lot of fun and a great opportunity to catch up. I never allow myself to starve because I’m more likely to overeat later. I always have power bars on hand (I like a kind called Gnu) in case I get hungry. They’re packed with fibre, which keeps you full for hours. This trick keeps you from overdoing it at a restaurant or a party. 6. How did you create your own makeup range? As a working makeup artist in New York, I found that I couldn't find the right shades of foundation, or the perfect lip color to use on models. All the foundations were too pink-y and the lip colors were never quite what I wanted. So, I started by mixing my own lip color -- the first shade was Brown #4. The models loved it, and before I knew it, I'd developed a range of 10 lipstick shades. 7. What is the must have makeup essential this season? The newly packaged Tinted Eye Brightener. This will lighten the under-eye area and draw your attention up with a pink toned corrective Tinted Eye Brightener. The shades of the brightener will totally counter act dark shadows under the eye making the eye look more lifted and tight. Be sure to apply close to the lashes and to the inner corner of the eye as well. 8. Whats next for the Bobbi Brown Range? This spring, there is a beautiful selection of coral shades perfect for lips and cheeks in the Cabana Coral collection out February. The shade range spans from fresh new pink corals to universal Nude corals to true Coral shades – every women can find the coral shade that’s right for her.
