FF. Andi we wanted to ask you a few questions about your fitness as we know your in great shape and love keeping healthy and fit, but has this always been the case, and when you were at school has sport been a part of your life.
AP. At school I was in the rugby 1st XV and then rowed for a little as well. I was keen on sports and like being part of a team.
FF. When you started working as a presenter for the BBC your days must have been long and hectic, was healthy eating on your mind, or did you just have to eat what you could when you could.
AP. When I presented The BroomCupboard I would eat a bag of crisps, a Flake and drink a can of Coke EVERY afternoon, more out of habit. To be honest I was 18 years old then so didn't really know anything about diet. When out on the road filming you just have to eat when you can.
FF. Tell us a bit more about what you are up to these days, we know you run a fitness model agency as well as much much more.
AP. Presenting is my passion but from that I have also created a Marketing company and a Fitness Model agency. Running all of those is hard work as well as training and working.
FF. When you were approached by mens health magazine to do an article on your progress at the gym what were your first thoughts baring in mind you had broken your leg as well.
AP. My first thoughts were just WOW, I could be on the cover of Men's Health at the age of 37, it's every guys dream to look good enough to be on the cover of the biggest selling Men's magazine in the UK.
FF. While training for that last photo-shoot in the magazine did you have a personal trainer that helped, and would you recommend this to others if you did.
AP. I trained with a trainer for 6 weeks, twice a week. I would go to the gym 4 days on and one day off. My trainer Jamie Sawyer (also does strength and conditioning for David Haye) was a dream and our personalities were a total match. When you hire a trainer remember that they work for you and if they just stand there and count or watch you do cardio then they're not right.
FF. While training hard how did you change your diet and what is your diet like now.
AP. My diet now is nowhere good as when I was training for the cover. I was on a high protein/low carbs diet, I still have parts of the diet that I stick to essentially no carbs late at night and lots of protein in the day.
FF. What would you say to people who say they have no time for fitness and keeping healthy. Rubbish!! There's always time. Wake up an hour earlier!!!
FF. Do you think a gym workout can relate to your every day life, mentally as well as physically. For example knowing that if you put the work in you will succeed, or knowing that you can reach your goals, can this positive thinking be a benefit in your working life.
AP. Put the work in, you'll get the best out. YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE!!!
FF. So tell us Andi what do you love about being healthy and fit
AP. I love the fact that when you get into shape people notice and seek advice from you. We all love giving advice and it confirms that the work I put in worked!
FF. Thank you Andi for your great interview, do you have any last words of inspiration for your fitness fans out there
AP. YOU CAN DO IT!!! Never be worried about using small weights, FORM is really important.
